Polish windsurfer Maciek Ruthowski known more for his slalom sailing shows he’s no slouch in the waves either. The talking is Polish but the action is action!
Here’s the rough translation of what went down:
In early May 2013 the combined with Team Quiksilver Poland and Burn Energy Drink Poland Maciek embarked on a journey in search of wind and waves. Jack and Philip Camera man Czerniec Koritski accompanied him as they traveled more than 5000km across Europe visiting Lake Garda, the southern coast of France, wakepark in Toulouse, and finally the Atlantic coast of Europe – so in a nutshell, it was that sort of adventure.
Check out Morgan Noireaux’s edit from Pistol River. Morgan is currently ranked 4th on the AWT and will be heading to the Desert Showdown next.
This was filmed while I was in Oregon for the AWT Pistol river wave bash. We went there a few days in advance with the intention of filming but we ended up only getting two days of wind. This one and the day of the contest which wasn’t really worth filming. All of this was filmed during one session at Cape Sebestian. Nothing amazing, just a fun mellow session. I’d love to sail the Cape when it’s bigger though, it must be pretty epic. – Noireaux
Freestyle windsurfing action with professional rider Phil Soltysiak on the Sailworks Revolution sails in the Columbia Gorge and Vancouver Island in the summer of 2013.
Film and edit by Adam Wojtkowiak.
Kai ‘Waterman’ Lenny has a new series with GQ, this is the second episode where he heads out windsurfing in suit, why we can’t say for sure. But I’m sure he had fun, and got a few dollars in the process. Let us know what you think, or what crazy get ups you’ve gone windsurfing in for any reason.
AWT rider Jay Watermeyer went through his GoPro footage, where he road triped from Portland, OR to Punta San Carlos Baja, for some windsurfing, surfing and mountain biking.

There was some talk the other week here on WindsurfPress that Philip Koester had been working on the Wasabi in Pozo. The Wasabi, first done by Boujmaa Guilloul, is a forward loop(Cheeseroll) into a backloop.
Sean O’brien brings us this story from Western Australia earlier this year:
Philip Köster being typical Philip Köster. In January we were invited on a photoshoot in Western Australian with Philip, Scott McKercher and JC. Roads filled with pink salt lakes, dust and kangaroos. Some of the most remote and glorious breaks you will find and 2 of the best wave sailors you’ll ever see on the water. On this particular day in Esperance, Philip was diabolical. Launching some of the biggest backies we’d ever seen and tearing every wave to shreds. At one point Philip asked us to make sure we were filming as he was going to pull that Boujmaa trick everyone was talking about. We were sceptical. First run out and this is what ensues; Wasabi.
Check out what Dany Bruch has been up to for the last month in preperation for Pozo and El Medano. Last season he finished 5th overall in the PWA Wave World rankings. This year he has been hard at work both on and off the water, with the help of his personal trainer Nico Gil. There is no doubt Bruch is looking at the top of his game, we’ll see what he pulls off in the coming days as the competition in Pozo begins.
Maui born and raised Casey Rehrer has been windsurfing since he could walk and recently decided to get very serious about his windsurfing career so had to make a decision and that decision was to join THE TEAM at MauiSails along with the rest of his family.
“We have all seen Casey grow up and continue to be impressed with his performance on the water, but now we are very excited and honored to have him on our sails and look forward to a long and bright future together” – Phil McGain.
Casey comes from a windsurfing family background, with both parents windsurfing, Tom and Bev who can be seen at Kanaha most days. Casey who is focusing on his studies as well as having the luxury of family support will be able to sail Hookipa most afternoons. Casey will also be competing at some of the event of the American Windsurfing Tour and of course the treasure of all windsurfing events on Maui, the Makani classic later in the year.
