Every few Thursdays we liek to give you a bit of a retro clip. This week we have 60 minutes of action from 1986 at the WSMA World Cup, the ultimate event of its day.
The story is about Kevin “coming home” to his roots after having accomplished his goal of winning a world title.
Watch as Kevin Pritchard travels along the West Coast of North America from Baja up to Vancouver Island (although he scored no session on the Island). Everything started with the trips to the American Windsurfing Tour events and Kevin and Johannes from Maui Nerd Productions never had the intention to make a clip about these trips, but in the end and looking through the clips, they saw some beauty and decided to share the footage with us. “Some would call it a video or a movie: We say it’s more a slideshow of good memories, unique moments with unique friends, funny stupid things, stunning nature and some great sailing!” (MNP)
Enjoy, it’s one of our favorite movies lately!
The 10 riders battle wind speed hit over 70 knots and surf over 20 feet in Brandon Bay Ireland. After the first round 6 riders, Marcilio Browne, Dany Bruch, Victor Fernandez, Robby Swift, Julien Taboulet and Thomas Traversa advance to the second mission.
The Legend remains MauiSails flagship side-shore wave sail. A marginally forward oriented draft provides ease of transition to driving bottom turns to neutral when coming off the top. This ability for control crosses over making it a great sail for gnarly, gusty high wind areas like the Gorge and Pozo.
New for this year, MauiSails is using a exclusive light weight gradient X-Ply in the upper portion of the sail. The gradient X-Ply has excellent strength to weight properties and looks cool in the sun creating a gradient reflection. The material was a result of several years of testing and development.
The legend is available from sizes 2.9 to 6.1. For more information on the legend and the complete MauiSails lineup check out the MaiuSails.com.
Reunion Island is a amazing French Island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, close to Mauritius, and offers near perfect down the line conditions. The Ravine Boys share with us the life on Reunion Island, and some great wavesailing. They leave us with the quote, “Enjoy it cuz one day we will be old…”.

“2012 has been a epic year for me! I learnt much stuff and had fun on the water! 2013 is going to be fun, I’m looking forward to all the action!!” – Gustav Häggström
We think the young Gustav shows great potential, and an efficient sailor just look at the lift and height he is getting on his jumps.
We look forward to the next production from Markus Rydberg and Gustav Haggstrom, the duo that make up MacG Productions.
