The 2012 PWA Gran Canaria Wind&Waves Festival opened yesterday. The sailors were greeted with strong winds and waves. At 14:15 the first men´s heat got started and the girls got released for this first day of competition.

The JP-Australia Freestyle team heads to Maui for the annual JP photo shoot. Andy ‘Bubble’ Chambers interviews shaper Werner Gnigler and Steven van Broeckhoven to explain the new JP Freestyle boards. The event will take place between July 12th and 18th, and conditions have already been going off. But before that the PWA pro’s are at the PWA Gran Canaria which kicks off on Monday, the forecast is looking awesome. We’ll be bringing you updates on both events!
As stated by PWA commentator, Ben Proffitt, the PWA Tenerife has now officially been confirmed. It will take place from July 12th to the 18th, just after the PWA Gran Canaria event which was also recently confirmed.

The PWA have finally confirmed that Pozo will be happening. That’s pretty last minute. but it sounds like they will be making up for it in terms of the event. There will be live streaming through out, and tons of social media coverage! And we of course will bring you up to the date coverage fop the entire event! The biggest news of all however, is that the event will now be run by the Moreno twins. The Moreno twin’s are two of the best female windsurfers, and they intend to bring a fresh new look to the PWA tour stop. They have already re-named it the PWA Pozo Wind & Waves Festival. A strong prediction is the emphasis on growing the event to a scale that is similar to PWA Podersdorf or PWA Sylt.
Sunday saw the last day for the 2012 Pistol Rive Wave Bash, and the best action was seen! A west swell brought logo high waves all day for the final two heats of the Pro division as well as an expression session for a Chinook boom.

Day 2 and 3 are now complete, with the final day, and pro final happening right now! Day 2 saw smaller and less consistent waves than before. The Pistol River Wave bash kicked off yesterday. The contest was once again blessed with good wind and waves as the Junior started things off. Conditions continued to build and were just blasting for the Pro class!

From the 12th to the 17th June, Costa Brava shall once again play host to the stars of the windsurfing world, as the third event of the men’s PWA Slalom World Tour takes place. The rankings remain unbelievably tight at the top after the close fought encounter of Korea, ensuring that the PWA Catalunya World Cup will be another mesmerizing event, packed with highs, lows and non-stop drama.
The ECWF is all about having fun. For this reason there will be no wind minimum for any of the events. As long as there is enough wind to move a windsurfer forward we’re competing. So Bring all your gear! Check in will start at 9:00 am on Saturday June 9th, adn competitors should be ready to race by noon.
