Check out Kurosh Kiani’s latest video update.
Over the winter, I went into hiding for a little while. I had a tough year throughout 2013 and needed for new things to happen. I changed my equipment sponsors and now embark on a total new time with completely new equipment and a new mindset. I spent the winter months on the island of Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands.
During these months I had lots of time to get everything back in order, and at the same time, I had time to reflect and put together this little clip to shortly tell a bit about how I feel about it all and what my deal is now.
Luckily I had a little bit of help getting a couple of clips together and as I am setting out to proper start my training times, I managed to put it all together to this short episode of my Kiani TV series. It is done completely from the heart. Nobody over my shoulders asking for specific things, just my own stuff.
See you out there in 2014!
In the latest events of PWA riders changing sponsors Kurosh Kiani leftSimmer and Fanatic to join his old sponsors Angulo and Point-7.
Words from Kurosh:
“First and mostly, I would very much like to send a big thanks to Simmer Style for being there for me from the beginning. I will be always grateful for their support not to mention the great people behind it I´ve become friends with. And of course a thanks to Fanatic for taking me on for a couple of years. But its times of change, lots of things have been re-structured, and ultimately I have brought my life closer to friends and family with this sponsor change. I even changed my sail number and will be rocking D83 in the future!. I have been riding for both Angulo Boards and Point-7 before and have great relationships with both Josh Angulo whom I have learned so much from and also Andrea Cucchi. I was one of the first “black team” riders back in the day when Andrea took me in and I stayed with him on Sardinia for a whole winter. Back then it was pretty much just him and I, today is a different story. We always have great battles out on the water and I look forward to kicking his ass this year!
I feel really at peace with coming back to Angulo Boards because they are a personality brand, and they support my visions to give me the space in my mind to evolve. Even though we parted ways back in 2012, Josh and I actually stayed good friends and I believe our friendship actually strengthened, and now with Pieter involved, I know I have the backbone and support along with Point-7 to pursue my goals and kick some ass! Last but not least I embark on a great upcoming time together with my friend Christian in Denmark as we have started up the company Gear Direct which is going to take over distribution of both Angulo Boards and Point-7 in Denmark and expanding with SUP´s and other products we think are great!”
Kurosh will be representing Angulo Boards and Point-7 on the PWA world tour along with his other sponsors, Doppstadt and Maui Ultra Fins in the 2014 season.
Kurosh Kiani is back with another great episode of Kiani TV where he takes a look at the World Cup competition scene.
In August, I spent a couple of weeks in Turkey preparing and then competing in the PWA world cup in the town of Alacati. In this months episode “The Contest” I try to portray the stuff that happens during a contest, all compressed into a combination of action and talks with two good friends and among the best windsurfers in the world: Ross Williams and Arnon Dagan.
We reflect on everything from arrival to departure and the things that go in between worth talking about. Mixed with some action from the hours spent training and the actual competition moments, I hope that this will give everyone who clicks by to watch an insight of what you go through in an action packed world cup week. Arrival, setting up, racing, crashing, heat of the moment and so on.. Check out the rest yourself.
Pro slalom windsurfer Kursh Kiani brings us his latest episode titled “Homeless” shares what he has been up to since PWA Korea, and his nomadic lifestyle.
The summer is really upon is in Europe, and this month of crazyness I was able to catch with my little cam going around like a madman from place to place. In this months episode of my TV series, I have focused on the fact, that I, for the moment live a life without any base staying on the road constantly.
Over these few minutes, I have tried to share my experiences and thoughts along the way going through London, Weymouth, Copenhagen, Marseille and Costa Brava. In this episode, I have only had the personal touch in mind. I have gathered whichever clip I had from going around and put it together along with my thoughts, and tried to set the vibe of how it is being me at the moment. – Kurosh Kiani
Danish slalom windsurfer Kurosh Kiani put together a nice clip from the PWA Korea slalom event. Here’s what he had to say:
Its 2013 and the PWA world tour slalom season has commenced. This time we kick off this years world tour in Korea. In this episode of my series, I have expanded to a longer clip with some impressions of the competition, the equipment, the people and the place. My focus in this episode is set on the choice of boards for the season.
Being a bit tired of being at the same beach for 10 days, I this time ventured outside of our event location and checked out other locations in this amazing country.
PWA Slalom Pro from Denmark put togeather this great Slalom clip from Maui with awesome heli shots.
” I hope [I] can display how amazing it can be spending your time windsurfing on this island.” – Kurosh Kiani
It’s not to often we bring you slalom clips, but here is a nice one from Kurosh Kiani in Alacati.
After yet an amazing windsurfing world cup in the town of Alacati, I stayed for some more days to enjoy the calm winds and conditions of this amazing spot, and to try out my new Fanatic Falcon boards. On this particular day the wind was light but enough to have a great time cruising around the bay.
Big thanks to my buddy Sean O´brien for shooting couple of clips of me again. – Kurosh Kiani
