Awesome video of Friday nights, night session. Four competitors hit the water, Ricardo Campello, Victor Fernandez, Alex Mussolini and Daniel Bruch. Ricardo Campello came out on top.
Thanks to cough ummm… continentseven for putting this video together.
The night session just finished in Sylt. Four competitors stepped up to the to keep in the night super session for the €4000 prize purse.
The first heat pitted Dany Bruch verse Victor Fernandez, both competing neck to neck throwing some big jumps. Victor landed a nice double racking up some serious points, but wasnt to be out done, and attempted a big double stalled forward. The continued to push the moves in the dark. Victor stopped sailing with a few minutes left after injuring his ankle, but he still had enough points to qualify for the next round.
Next heat, the light was even darker as Alex Mussolini started strong with some super nice back loops. A few minutes in Ricardo Campello began to dominate, and showed some serious stones, hucking moves like a crazy man. And even showing off for the crowd for no points with a nice wave 360. He continued to throw move after move on both tacks. The highlight was an ankle dry double forward.
Victor was unable to advance to the final due to the injury. Dany Brunch advanced as the next highest score, unfortunately he was unable to find nice ramps, and only scored a few jumps. Campello on the other hand made use all of all the ramps that came his way out and way in. He trough a nice tweaked push loop and than close tot he end, a double forward on starboard tack! Campello took the win, and the largest share of the purse. Big shout out to these four athletes that wowed the big crouds in almost no light!

Day six was the first day without wind at the PWA Sylt World Cup and this meant that the slalom fleet spent a frustrating day on hold, the day was called at 4:30 when suitable conditions had not materialized until than. So far today hasn`t been better, the Slalom fleet is on hold, waiting for better conditions. But that doesn`t mean nothing`s been happening. Tomorrow is the World premier of Andre Paskowski and Jose ‘Gollito’ Estredo (Fanatic / North) at the 2012 Windsurfing Film Festival held at the cinema in Westerland, Sylt. The PWA grab a quick interview with Andre head over and read it now.
Redbull brings us this short video of Philip Köster. After winning the PWA World Championship in Klitmöller, they look back at the road that shaped his path to the top.
Bjorn Dunkerbeck suffered a mast break during the Slalom heats yesterday which definitely set him back. Heres the crash, first in normal time than slow speed, and you can really see where the mast snaps.
The double elimination of the freestyle is already over and Gollito Estredo has rocked to the top, Tonky Frans also showed he was there to compete finishing in 2nd. We’ll hopefully have a video of that for you shortly. But in the mean time here’s a highlight reel form the first round of competition, including freestyle and wave.
On the third day the slalom sailors finally took to the water, as winds ranged from 8 – 20 knots. Antoine Albeau (RRD / NeilPryde) enjoyed an excellent day as the Frenchman won back-to-back bullets to enhance his title challenge. It was a completely different story for the current leader of the slalom tour though, Bjorn Dunkerbeck (Starboard / Severne / Mystic / Dunkerbeck Eyewear / Chris Benz), as he missed out on the first winners’ final and then suffered an untimely catapult in the second final of the day. Dunkerbeck will will be hoping for a miracle if he hopes to maintain his title.
