The trip of a lifetime.
Kevin Pritchard had been bugging Keith Teboul about going to the Marshall Islands for some windsurfing and some good times. Finally a message came, “Marshalls are going to be good on Thursday, flight leaves tomorrow, bring your camera, your windsurfer, and plenty of sunscreen. You in?” said Keith.
Well let Kevin’s Story tell the rest:
Excited like a kid on Christmas, I booked my flights, bought some sunscreen and we were off. I think the images speak for themselves. The beauty of the Marshall Islands is amazing. While this video only shows hard core waves, it seems funny to say, but the thought of freeriding around this place had me pretty fired up. I would say this is the most beautiful place I have been on Earth. 4 Million frequent flyer miles, 27 countries, never have I seen a place like it.
Marcilio Browne and Bernd Roediger came along with Keith and I and the trip was a blast. Brawzinho was insane to watch as you will soon see, with some nasty wipeouts. Bernd was even more impressive as he had stayed there for 6 weeks and was really starting to let loose when he was getting barreled by the sea monster and came up with a broken back and some serious time off the water, only allowing us to get a couple clips of him ripping it up.
Keith organizes some amazing trips together with Martin Daly @ marshallwaves.com It is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The water, the beauty, just incredible. Hope you enjoy the clip.
Enjoy the clip, and the Marshal Islands are a place to add to the bucket list of windsurfing destinations!
‘In the Middle’ by Morgan Noireaux documents some of his training and testing this Spring in Maui. Here’s what he had to say about the name, “I forget why I named it what it is, I’m guessing the reason for it was pretty random and of no importance.” Enjoy the clip!
The 2013 Défi Wind in Gruissan was one of the most successful editions since the launch of the event in 2001. After a day of tow-in freestyle 3 Days of strong wind kicked in for the 805 windsurfers on 1 starting line and 175 km of full speed racing. Check out the 22 minute video that try’s do do the Defi Wind justice but is a unique event, it can not be explained, it must be done, it must be lived.
Australia water babe Sarah Delaunay headed to Baja in May for some windsurfing and long SUP rides. When she got back she produced this video with her own song track, enjoy!
A quick clip of Víctor Fernández and Dani Bruch getting ready in Pozo.
The competitors have descended on the town of Gold Beach, Oregon for the 2013 AWT Pistol River Wave Bash presented by Starboard. The opening night party and registration was hosted by the Inn of the Beachcomber and everyone had a blast with BBQ, beer and music… always a winning combination. Day 1 was a relaxing day as the wind didn’t materialize enough to run any heats, but we’re ready for when it does show up. The main action on the beach was with a SUP clinic from Bernd Roediger and Fiona Wylde. They gave the crowd plenty of great tips on paddling and catching waves. I’m sure some will use them to their advantage at the upcoming SUP Gold Beach Challenge presented by the Inn of the Beachcomber that will be running on Day 2. Stay tuned tomorrow for a report on the action and photos from this exciting SUP event.
