Kauli Seadi is at home in Brazil and headed to Ibiraquera for some port tack wavesailing.
Makani Fins hosted a clinic this October at Punta San Carlos, Baja. From flying in and to the remote camp, to uncrowded near perfect waves, San Carlos delivers.
When I read my first Windsurf magazine there was a shot of Ross mid back loop on an old blue board and yellow Gaastra sail beautifully shot from the water by John Carter. There was this stunning steep backdrop and I remember not being able to work out in my head how you could be jumping so close to a cliff and that England even had places like this. It was basically where my obsession with windsurfing all started. That picture was cut out and stayed on my bedroom wall for years.
A couple of days ago I went over as a foot passenger on the hover craft from my home town Portsmouth with one board bag, a tripod and my camera stuff to score a day at Niton. I filmed for 2 hours with one battery then went for a sail. The conditions aren’t exactly classic Niton and was a bit onshore, but nevertheless I like the clip and is one that’s a bit special to me.
Fabrice Beaux put together this nice video from the 2013 AWT Hatteras Wave Jam event that took place mid September. Check out Fabrice’s write up on the event and of course the clip.
I put this video together after our contest-trip in Cape Hatteras. I like that place and that event: the conditions, the people and the landscape make it a unique place to go windsurf. I have been there 4 times for contest and I always did well. The locals and the windsurfing visitors are always super excited to have the pros on their local spots and we always get a warm welcome there.
The AWT organizers did a great job again this year, and invited Miho and me to stay in the staff house. It was a huge house with a pool, Jacuzzi, and small movie theater. This way we were always in the center of the action and it was so much fun to hang out with everyone.
I also took advantage of being there to present and premier our latest film, “New Hawaii”. I was so stoked to hear all the positive responses that people had to say about it and asking me question about our killer spot in the North Philippines.
Cape Hatteras is perhaps the best windsurfing spot on the East Coast of the US, and I hope that this video might inspire you to go on windsurfing trip there.

It’s never been a matter to us that windsurfing was dead, hell no it’s not dead.

Pierre Garambois tearing it up in the freestyle-friendly lagoons of Fuerteventura.
Here’s what he had to say:
Here is a movie called “Go Insane”. It’s about a trip i made last summer on the island of Fuerteventura in the Canary Island, with my team mates of La BAR. I made a little clip with my personal footages, but a longer one with all the riders will comme shortly.
We had a great time during 20 days over there, lots of fun, wind every days, nice sessions alone in the lagoon and outside with little chops and waves sometimes. All in all this trip was a great success for all of us and i hope you guys enjoy the video!
Looking forwar to the next trip! Come ooooon!

Naish International is stoked to bring Maui’s own Harley Stone to the team!
Since he was 3 months old, Harley has been a permanent fixture at windsurfing competitions across the globe while accompanying his father, former world champion windsurfer, Josh Stone. Considered a “Child of the Tour”, he has not only watched the best, but he’s also learned from the best, allowing himself to become well-seasoned as he works his way to becoming one of Maui’s hottest rippers.
“I’m super excited to become a part of the Naish Team! It’s such a great environment and group of people – Naish will help bring me to levels I’ve only dreamed about. I can’t wait to reach my highest potential!” –Harley Stone
As one of America’s top youth windsurfers, Harley is currently ranked 4th overall in the AWT and is quickly becoming a permanent fixture on windsurfing podiums across the world, taking 1st at the 2012 Waddell Creek Event (Youth) & most recently, 2nd at the 2013 Aloha Classic (Youth) here on Maui.
Harley continues to make a name for himself by striving for excellence not only on the water, but off the water as well. In addition to his perfect 4.0 GPA and State Championship Title in Gymnastics, his ambitions range from windsurfing Jaws and nailing goiters to excelling in Math & Science to become an Aeronautical Engineer.
He’s very much a part of the young blood of windsurfing and is an extremely strong windsurfer in his own right. Be sure to keep an eye out for him in 2014 as he takes to the AWT & local competitions to make his mark in the circuit. This is talent that can’t be missed.
Welcome to the Team Harley!
