Pistol river Wave Bash Day 2 and 3
Day 2 and 3 are now complete, with the final day, and pro final happening right now! Day 2 saw smaller and less consistent waves than before. So the focus was on the amateurs, women and youth divisions, with the pros on hold. Day 3 the Pro division saw some sweet action, continue reading to find out more.
Morrgan Noireaux continued his dominance in the youth division, but Zane Schweitzer stole the show for the day, Push Looping his way into second passed Casey Rehrer. In the Women’s fleet Ingrid Larouche continued to hold off Fiona Wylde for the lead.
In the Masters division local Dana Miller showed his amazing skill climbed all the way from 10th place to 4th on day two. The final came down to a close heat with Brian Caserio edging out Attila Tivadar, with Jeff Albright bringing up the final podium spot for the Masters. In the amateur division the final came down to a battle between Attila Tivadar and Ingrid Larouche with Tivadar all finishing on the podium respectively.
The end of day 2 saw conditions improve enough to run the Pro Single elimination. Bernd Roediger scored some points with a stylish one-handed Back Loop right in front of the judges. Slightly upwind for the entire heat was Sean Aiken who also landed an early Back Loop and continued with some nice wave rides. Kai Katchadourian got going as the heat progress scoring some of thehis best waves late and also sticking a solid Back Loop. Levi Siver showed his tweaked waveriding style that the others couldn’t match, and took the final.
Day 3 saw a later start with the skippers meeting called for 1PM by head Judge Matt Pritchard. It was the perfect call with the wind and waves showing up a little later then previously, and conditions were great for the Pro double elimination. The sailor of the day pick went again to Morgan Noireaux. Not only did he win the youth competition but he is still alive with only three riders left in the Pros. On day four of the Pistol River Wave Bash he’s up against he Bernd Roediger and Levi Siver.
Day 3 also saw the completion of the Womens division. Ingrid Larouche defended her title. Fiona Wylde narrowly defeated Sam Bittner for second after a fearce battle on the waves, but all were left smiling after a super fun event.
