Kai Lenny suffered a pretty gnarly injury while surfing Jaws the other day. Below is what he had to say and a few pics. (Warning: Some of the pics are pretty nasty and if you have a weak stomach put some saran wrap over your keyboard.)
I had a few really good wipeouts today, but it was my last wipeout that gave me wound! Basically Air dropped on a set wave at Peahi and once I landed and committed my bottom turn I hit a rib in the face of wave and face planted in the barrel. My fin tomahawked my foot while I was getting sucked over the falls. Once I surfaced I was all the way by the rocks on the inside so besides getting cut I got a good beating as well! That is why its called the ride after the ride!!

Jeri offers up the perfect place for getting into wave sailing, with a small break and super reliable winds in the mid to high 20s (That’s knots if you’re in one of those other countries). Check out Levi Lenz and Ian Mouro on a training in Jeri, launching some full power airs off the steep ramps!

Leon Jamaer big jumps and big crashes. Leon recently left Hot Sails and Fanatic to sign with JP and Neilpryde, and he shared a few words about it on facebook:
I have been with Hot Sails Maui for the last 7 years and with Fanatic for the last 5 years. I want to thank them, especially Jeff, Craig, Karin and Torben, but also everyone else who helped me along the way, it has been great! I just signed contracts with JP and Neilpryde and am stoked they put trust in me and also give me the opportunity to turn fully pro and focus on what I want to do anyway – being in the water.
After six weeks on the road I am now happy to come home. Just boarded Santiago – Miami – New York – London – Frankfurt – Hamburg… maybe few more detours as it looks like the big storm in Europe is shutting down airports.
Here is a short clip, probably the last one with Hot and Fanatic, from the other day in Churio using the KS3 4,3 and Quad 82.
see you on the water!

Surfing in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.
A pure windsurfing lifestyle movie with love of the ocean and nature.
While traveling and discovering planet earth’s special treasures I’m happy to share my passion. The last seven months I’ve been surfing, windsurfing and climbing on Sardinia, La Madalena, Caprera and the South of Corsica.
Enjoy my latest clip ‘North Shore Sardinia’.
This is the official full movie when Max Matissek joined Philip Soltysiak on a Windsurfing Into the Unknown adventure on Vancouver Island, Canada. Joined by Phil’s younger brother Tom, they camped and searched for windsurfing spots few have ever heard of in the summer of 2013.
The two professional windsurfers and seasoned travelers have been to some of the best windsurfing destinations around the world, and it was now a chance for Canada’s West Coast to prove it’s worthiness as a destination for adventure windsurfers. The trip took the riders from Jordan River and Gordon’s Beach, across to Port Renfrew, into Lake Cowichan and Nitinat Lake, to Port Alberni and finishing off on the Pacific coast in Tofino. All the while the team camped in the island’s Pacific Temperate Rain Forest, cooking and keeping warm with a campfire, and trying to keep wildlife away from their food.
