Martin Ten Hoeven is the PWA’s tallest rider at 2.05M and can often make the waves look small, but still rips. While on Tenerife he teamed up with Bartek Jankowski and put together this sweet action clip.
The Carro Wave Classic took place last week in Carro, France, a small fishing village in Marseilles, and one of the best wave spots in the Mediterranean. The top 3 men were, Thomas Traversa, Julient Taboulet, and Peter Voultwater respectively. Fanny Aubet took the girls division, and Justin Denel won the youth. The video is in Fench but the action is what it is all about!
Top French freestyler Julien Mas recently changed sail sponsors, he now rides for Sail Loft. Here’s a clip he produced from a new spot he has found near where he lives. Just a short edit but nice action, enjoy.
It’s time for Photo Friday, word has passed down that winds in Maui were lighter this week, lets hope that picks up with so many pros there now! Luckily for us Europe delivered! Dimitris Maniatis is working on a project to highlight the best freestyle windsurfing action on the Greek scene. The project began in late October 2012, with no rush for deadlines or sponsor deals, so expect the epic action… sometime in the future.

Australia Pro Ben Newson recently released this solo video as a fun project testing some filming methods in Western Australia.
I recently went “Hans Solo” on a mission to the South coast of WA on a recent good forecast hoping to score some good conditions and explore some new locations. Seeing as though I was the only person on the beach I decided to set my tripod up in the hope to get a bit of footage. I jammed the legs into the sand and rested the lense against the trusty Toyota for some stabilization from the wind. I call it the set and forgot method, a bit like fishing when you dont have the line in your hands. It was a bit painful at times and a lot of action was missed either out of frame or because the camera decided to stop recording. It stayed on at Mutton Bird Beach but didn’t want to play nice at the good spot. I managed to get a bit of action (not the best i know) and cut it together into a short clip to show the conditions on offer. It was more about testing out whether this method of filming would work. It was filmed with a canon 60D, Canon 70-200 f4 non is, Tamron 24-70 f2.8 and the goprohd 2. – Ben

Gun Sails is happy to announce the return of Josh Angulo, this is the third time in his career he will be on Gun Sails, after leaving the Point-7 Black team this fall.
“Some guys compete to travel, some to party… I’ve already done both those things, now it’s time to win!” says Josh Angulo who hopes to attack the podium on the 2013 PWA Tour.

I’d like to say THANK YOU to my surgeon Piotr Piekarczyk again! I’m really stoked that despite 12 screws in my foot I got back to landing forwards and got quite consistent with my backloops just 6 months after the surgery! I am really excited to be back on the water and despite having another surgery ahead of me I am staying positive about getting my foot back to 100% soon! The Swiss version of the Storm Chase featuring Berni S. and the Muller brothers. The action is intense as the riders push the limits in 140km/h winds and try to freestyle well off shore. The location is Urnersee on Sunday March 17th, 2012.
