The first PWA wave event is coming closer. The Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival will take place in Pozo from July 2nd to 7th. for more information check out grancanariawindandwavesfestival.com
Many PWA riders are in Pozo training for the first wave event of the season, but last week they had some light conditions. Robby Swift and Levi Lenz used the windless days last week to work on a creative lament about the progress of Robby Swift´s Double Forward loop.
In this episode Ben Proffitt brings us a bit of action from Robby Swift and Marcillio Browne. Plus he brings us a tutorial on doing a stalled forward.
In Part 4 Ben heads north to a spot near the airport, due to lack of conditions in Pozo. And look forward to part 5 where he promises us a stalled forward technique in part 5!
The PWA have finally confirmed that Pozo will be happening. That’s pretty last minute. but it sounds like they will be making up for it in terms of the event. There will be live streaming through out, and tons of social media coverage! And we of course will bring you up to the date coverage fop the entire event! The biggest news of all however, is that the event will now be run by the Moreno twins. The Moreno twin’s are two of the best female windsurfers, and they intend to bring a fresh new look to the PWA tour stop. They have already re-named it the PWA Pozo Wind & Waves Festival. A strong prediction is the emphasis on growing the event to a scale that is similar to PWA Podersdorf or PWA Sylt.

Ben Proffitt is planning to bring you frequent updates from Pozo in his training diary’s. the idea is to bring you up to date with how my training is going.. the ups the downs.. who’s hot and who’s not and just some general gossip. It just tossed together, so don’t expect super editing.
Probably most of you associate Pozo Izquierdo with nuclear winds, waves and unsane jumping… well just five minutes north from Pozo Izquierdo we have a small bay which is protected from the swell and which receives about the same wind we get at Pozo.
A beach perfect for some slalom, speed sailing, freestyle, and for learning.

Dario Ojeda is definitely one of the stand-outs in Pozo, and finished 3rd at last years PWA contest in Pozo. Here he is at home in Pozo doing his thing! He has also recently open his own sport center, the Kaikane Water Sport Center – Pozo. Enjoy the awesome wave action in this clip.
